Grill on The Edge gets ready to open

London Road restaurant closed its doors last week and the building is currently undergoing a refurbishment ready to reopen on Monday as The Grill on the Edge.

Cheshire based restaurant and bar group Living Ventures acquired London Road restaurant along with 4 others from the Heathcote group at the beginning of November. Speaking at the time about their latest acquisition in Alderley Edge, Jeremy Roberts, Commercial Director at Living Ventures, told me "It'll be buzzing by Christmas."

They have traded very successfully in Alderley Edge for the last five years at Gusto and next summer they will open The Red Piano, their third restaurant in the village. Living Ventures have taken out a 25 year lease on No.15 London Road, the building which was home to No.15 Wine Bar for 35 years.

The Grill on the Edge will be a modern British take on their Blackhouse seafood and steak group of restaurants, which includes the popular Grill on the Alley in Manchester city centre - which, last month, appeared in the Sunday Times top 10 list of foodie destinations in the North West.

Living Ventures was founded in 1999 by entrepreneurs Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts who have developed a number of successful high street brands since then, including The Living Room which was sold in 2007.

I had planned to have lunch here with clients on Thursday (tomorrow) on what was to be their first day trading, unfortunately, the restaurant cancelled the 'soft opening' :( Going to Stay instead :) Perhaps the weather has impacted on suppliers.
