This weekend the Alderley Edge Cricket Under 11 team achieved an unprecedented result. Not only were they unbeaten all season but they won two leagues and one cup.

They also reached the final of the Cheshire Cup but the team were unfortunately deprived of achieving the triple, which has never been done before, because the two cup games were scheduled at the same time on the same day.

Head Coach Andrew Towle's Alderley Edge Under 11 team completed an unbeaten season on Sunday 25th July at Bowdon, winning the South Manchester Cup against a determined Bowden side. Alderley posted an impressive 163-0, with Oliver Towle, Oliver Pooler, Sam Perry, Henry Stevinson & Ed Fluck retiring unbeaten for 25.

Bowdon started impressively, seeing off the opening bowling pair of bowlers Henry Scanlon and Prateek Mehan. Stevinson's first over seemed to change the balance removing one opener with the first ball, and the second from a brilliant diving catch from Scanlon. Ben Murphy & Sam Brindle continued with tight bowling. Pooler, Ben Lynch and Max Harari all managed to bamboozle the batsman each taking two wickets, thanks to brilliant work behind the stumps by Ed Fluck – stumping three of the Bowdon players.

This completed a fantastic double winning season, winning the South Manchester Cricket League and the South Manchester Cup. In addition the team won the Cheshire County Cricket League and won a place in the Cheshire County Cricket Cup Final, played Sunday morning against Cheadle Hulme (during the South Manchester Cup game).
