Award winning chef, Enzo Mauro from Osteria Mauro in Mottram St Andrew, has just held his first fund raising event for Mid-Cheshire Riding for the Disabled and raised £250 for the charity.

Enzo the ‘Pasta Master’ held a Ravioli Masterclass, during which he created two Ravioli dishes, ‘Caprese’ made with Ham & Pecorino and ‘Crab & Prawn’ made with a spectacular black pasta plus a Tagliatelle dish with a tomato sauce. Everyone then sampled each of the dishes, which were very popular.

John Morris from Alderley Edge had particular reason to enjoy the evening as he was presented with his very own plate of his favourite Osteria Mauro dish ‘Mushroom Ravioli’ to enjoy. He explained “I am a regular at the restaurant and was really interested to see how pasta is made and it was an ideal opportunity. I just happened to mention to Enzo that my favourite Ravioli was Mushroom and they promptly set too and made me my own dish – brilliant”.

Mid-Cheshire Riding for the Disabled is based at New Barn Livery in Ollerton, and is headed up by Pamela Rigby. Both her and her team of voluntary helpers work hard to give local people from all walks of life, from children to the retired, a chance to ride horses.

Pam was delighted with the evening and commented “It was a super evening and we really appreciate what the restaurant and Enzo are doing to help support the charity, I know they have more events coming up and as they all involve good food I suspect I will be attending them all!”

The family-orientated Italian is planning several more fundraising events this year for Riding for the Disabled. For more information on Enzo Mauro’s fundraising events, please call 01625 828111, or for Mid-Cheshire Riding for the Disabled call 01565 632784.
