Sun shines on 2023 May Fair

The ever popular Alderley Edge May Fair benefited from glorious sunshine on Saturday, May 20th.

Celebrations kicked off with the May Fair parade through the village centre led by this year's May Queens - Molly Lamb and Allana Khan, who travelled in style.

Afterwards crowds gathered in the park to enjoy, artisan market stalls, donkey rides, the village dog show, clowns, children's rides, vintage bikes, and Jema Leopold's Dancing Ponies and live music.

On the 1842 stage, an afternoon of entertainment included the Worker Bee's Band, Malteaser the Clown, Echo Dance, Wilmslow High School Talent and Alderley Edge School of Dance. Whilst at the top of the park, the Vita Group stage hosted local talent including The Company, Siren Sounds, Danny McCabe, The Recliners, Jessie Amy Leask and Ben Jordan, performing as Ed Sheeran.

Committee chairperson Paul Marshall said "The sky was blue, the sun was warm, so we had a nice platform to put on a good party."

He added "When the visitors to our Alderley Edge May Fair 2023 were leaving the park, they thanked the organisers for an enjoyable weekend and the repeated comment praised the incredible atmosphere. From Friday's warm up of live local musical talent, fairground fun and delicious street food to Saturday's main event, the community spirit, support and zest clearly stood out."
