Legend of the Wizard on display

A new information board explaining 'The Legend of the Wizard' to visitors of the village has been erected outside the library.

Alderley Edge History Group and Alderley Edge Parish Council have worked together to design and create three boards, the other two will be erected on the platforms at Alderley Edge station in due course.

The boards were designed by Geoff Hall, John Marshall and John Wallace and are based on an article that first appeared in the Manchester Mail in 1805. This article is held by the Alderley History Group amongst a huge portfolio of material they look after in their archives.

The boards have been prepared as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Year celebrations and each one carries the Jubilee logo.
Councillor Mike Dudley Jones, Chairman of Alderley Edge Parish Council said "On behalf of everyone in the Village, I would like to thank the History Group for their research and design. We are all part of a Legend! How cool is that!"
