Inspired by war veteran Captain Tom Moore's incredible efforts to raise nearly £33m for the NHS, Aldeli decided to do their own little bit by hosting a massive bake off to celebrate all together.
They came up with the idea to bake 100 cakes for Captain Tom's 100th birthday on Thursday, 30th April, to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
In the end Ilana and Carole Higham managed to bake 125 cakes which were all sold over Facebook or Instagram, having set up a Just Giving page for payment, and raised over £650.
Ilana said "We even had one lovely customer who donated all his cakes to BrookView nursing home which I hand delivered to this morning.
"It has been the most wonderful experience to have undertaken!"
Having completely sold out of homemade cakes, Ilana and Carole are now taking orders for collection or delivery of cakes and scones next week. People can order via Aldeli's Facebook page and instagram: aldeli_delicatessen.
