Heavy winds bring tree down on Macclesfield Road

While snow is causing chaos in parts of the country, some local roads have been blocked after high winds brought trees down.

Macclesfield Road is currently blocked in Over Alderley where a large tree has fallen in the past half an hour.

When I found that tree across the road from AE it must have been down for quite some time as someone was using a chainsaw on it. So why weren't there any signs to say the road was blocked. A few cars flashed their lights but that means be careful not turn round. We ended up turning round and going down a snow bound road to Birtles and could easily have become stuck.
