An historian has come across an album of family and World War 1 photographs which he believes belonged to a local family.
George Norley from Leicestershire discovered the album, which contains over 40 photos and some postcards, when having a clear out recently. He believes his brother could have bought it at an auction in Macclesfield and would like to find the family and reunite them with the collection of photographs and postcards which date from 1905 to 1922.
Above is a selection of photos from the album, including a beach photo which comes from a section entitled 'The Wizard of Alderly Edge'.
There are no names mentioned apart from a postcard in the album is written to a Mr Atkinson who lived in Dover and at the back of the album it says 'with love from Ida Xmas 1905'.
There are also mentions of the Welsh Fusiliers and the Royal Artillery and some postcards were produced by a photographer in Macclesfield.
