ITV has announced the return of The Real Housewives of Cheshire to ITVBe.

The Cheshire housewives hit ITVBe screens in January 2015 with many of the scenes shot in Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and the surrounding area. It quickly became one of the most successful original commissions for the channel since its launch.

Series 2 of The Real Housewives of Cheshire, scheduled to start later this year, will see all six original Cheshire housewives return - so audiences will get to re-immerse themselves in the lives of Ampika Pickston, Dawn Ward, Lauren Simon, Leanne Brown, Magali Gorré, Tanya Bardsley and their circle of friends.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire is produced by Monkey, NBCUniversal's International Television Production company. NBCUniversal's "The Real Housewives" brand now has six international versions and seven franchises in the USA.

@ Peter Wright: certain people would go into orbit if that were to happen.

Has anyone asked them whether they support AEFirst?

Oops; I should have said 'have they been consulted'?

Does anyone think this programme puts Alderley and Cheshire in a good light? It seems to promote a stereotype.

Really pleased to see it coming back, its definitely easy watching TV, but the main thing is like it or not it brings visitors into the village spending money, just this last weekend alone I know of 2 couples who spent the weekend here purely because they wanted to "do the Cheshire housewives thing" that's extra money into our hotels, restaurants and shops, so long may it continue, stereotype or not.

That's because we don't have a car park in Heyes Lane and under AE1 we never will.

So you think people will walk from Heyes lane to Gusto in a ideal world yes but not in Alderley it will never happen, but we can all dream!!!
