If anyone is missing a young tabby cat, with green eyes, can they reply to this post?  It has been loitering outside our house for a couple of days now.  Unusual markings (spots and stripes) and no collar.  Friendly, though. Reply on here and we’ll figure out how to communicate directly.  Thanks.

If the cat is friendly enough to be stroked, I can bring my scanner to check for a microchip.  Animal Support Volunteers 07885 458583 I can respond at short notice usually!

Tregony has scanned the cat and it is ‘chipped’.  What we know so far is that it is called Ella, is 8 years old and the microchip’s registered address is Uxbridge (which my son tells me is about 3 hours drive from here)!  Does anyone know anyone who moved up here from Uxbridge and who is missing Ella The Cat?  She is quite vocal!

Where are you? I could post a message on facebook if that will help?

Thanks, Karen, but with Tregony’s help we’ve tracked down Ella’s owner.  He only lives 2 minutes walk from mine.  She’s been missing for 6 weeks, so he was pretty surprised and happy to hear from us.  Thanks to Tregony for all your help.  I love a happy ending :)

Good to read a happy ending Claire.

And I would also like to praise the fantastic work done by Tregony in tracking down and generally caring for animals locally.

A few years ago, whilst looking after my fathers Jack Russell, he bolted (the dog, not my Dad) and Tregony covered a lot of ground helping us to track him down - fortunately that story also had a happy ending!

Alan, I am blushing!  Only too happy to help out when required.

Claire, I’m pleased that I passed Petlog’s vetting procedure and they released the full details of Ella’s owner.
What’s the betting you haven’t seen the last of her - she looked so comfortable on your garden chair.  I think she is typical of a cat who will keep two homes looking after her!!

Hi Tregony, I have to admit I’m quite pleased to report that the owners moved house (with Ella) last Friday, so we found them in the nick of time!  I agree, she seemed quite content in her newly adopted home, but she seemed very happy to be reunited too.  Believe it or not, they moved here a year ago and only let her outside about 2 or 3 months ago.  Just goes to show… there’ll always be demand for the wonderful service you provide.  Thank you again.
