Looking up at the Edge

Hello everyone
I’d like to ask a question and hope someone here may know the answer.

Looking up at the edge from Duke Street, there appears to be a lot of new build, bright and glass properties appearing.

My concern is:
1.  The cutting down of the beautiful old trees to make way for these properties.
2.  What will keep the soil in place without the root network of the trees holding it steady. (are we heading for a landslide in a few years time?)
I am not a structural engineer just a concerned resident asking a question.

I can see it from the bedroom window, but I just thought it was extra outside lights

It’ll be the new “affordable housing” that CEC have committed to.
