Waste Collection Friday 30 January

Although most of the snow had disappeared, there was no waste collection yesterday - Friday 31 January.

I phoned East Cheshire three times to be told “it would collected before 5.00pm” but this did not happpen. Thje roads were allo navigable.

When I last phoned - at 4.50 - to ask if there would be a collection on Monday I was told that I had to phone them! I explained that my silver bin was overflowing and was told to take my waste to the tip at Macclesfield. (in the bin?!!)

This was at a time when the conditions were supposed to be too bad for a waste collection!

Any views on this level of “service” and would one of our local councillors like to advise?

Our bin was actually collected last Thursday, the worst weather day but we do live on a main road. Not much comfort if you have an overflowing bin I know.
Refuse collection is completely down to CEC and the route to them is through the ward councillor Frank Keegan.

I can honestly say that Cheshire East are in danger of becoming a joke when it comes to refuse collections. My bin out at night , on the pavement ready for collection. No overflow, nicely closed lid. NOT COLLECTED !!  Phone up and am told that I have to report it on Monday even though this is Friday. Depending on what the crew have written they will pick it up between 1 and 5 days. So…. my word against the collectors, no idea what the crews are doing due to no GPS on the trucks and no way of contacting them until they actually return to the depot.
FARCE FARCE FARCE !!!
