Can anyone enlighten me as to the purpose of the two large containers that appeared in the lay-by on Heyes Lane a few months ago?

Hi Dominic,
quite by chance I was there a couple of days ago when a large van drew up (I didn’t notice the logo) and a young chap got out, unlocked one of the containers, pulled out an empty trailer which he hooked up to the van and then, having re-locked the container, drove off. Does that help at all?

Hi Duncan,

Thanks for this.  I am going to refer it to the Council and the Police. When I hear anything I will post a message.

All credit to the council’s environmental health department.  After sending them an email they sent someone out, contracted the Highways Department and then called me today to say that the containers are legitimate and belong to British Gas who are undertaking some remedial work in the area over the coming few weeks.
