Hi. Does anyone know if a family with the surname ‘Swinnerton’ still lives in Alderley Edge. I have been told it was near to the shops on Wood Gardens. Thanks.

Swinnertons lived on Oakfield Road. Think that both Mr and Mrs Swinnerton have died. Think they had 2 children who are probably late 40’s early 50’s now but no idea of whereabouts.

  My name is Robin Heald, I’m from Minnesota, USA & I’ve been researching my family history. I descend from John Heald,  born 1615-ish of Alderley Edge, Cheshire. He was married to Dorothy Royal on Dec. 3rd, 1636. There is some debate as to whether he was married a 2nd time to a woman names Dorothy (Andros) Andrews. He had 8 or 9 children, named John, Hannah, Timothy, Greshom, Dorothy, Isaac, & Israel. There might be another child who died early on named Dorcus. What I’m hoping is if anyone could help me out with any info on my family. John Jr. is next then another John & another John, Born Aug. 8th, 1693 in Carlisle, Middlesex, Massachusetts. I’d really love to know where the 1st. homestead was & if it’s still around?  I am so passionate about my family & it’s beginning & even though I have most of the lineage, conformation & any other info. would be so incredibly helpful & appreciated!!! if you consult a map of central Manchester, the name Heald crops up in place names e.g. Heald Place.
My own family name is Herald, similar to Heald, but I do not know of any actual relationship. There are a number of Heralds in the south of the U.S.

Hi Robin. A family called Heald lived on The Circuit in Alderley until a few years ago. The wife was called Monica but not sure about husband but both dead now.  Think they had two children possibly Susan and Michael who would be early sixties now but no idea where they live now.
