During the recent bad weather waste collections have been severely delayed due to snow and the prolonged freezing temperatures.
Where operatives have been unable to reach households to collect waste they have been redeployed to other services, for example, helping to grit and clear local footpaths.
A spokesperson from Cheshire East announced today “As a result of the delays, the decision has been taken to revert back to the regular waste collection and recycling timetable from Monday January 11.”
Residents are asked to check their waste collection stickers and put out their recycling and waste for kerbside collection accordingly. Extra operatives and resources will also be allocated to help collections to be made as scheduled.
The spokesperson said “We would like to thank residents for their continued patience in this matter and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Every effort is being made to collect waste across the Macclesfield area. Without the dedication of staff over the past week, even the limited amount of collections which have taken place would not have been possible.”
