Lazy refuse collectors

Am I asking too much to expect the refuse collectors to replace my emptied bin back on my drive where they got it from?  I realise it’s extra work to push my empty bin a further 3 feet back onto my property instead of leaving it in the middle of the pavement causing an obstruction.  This happens every single black bin day and is getting annoying.

It’s lucky you even had a collection, our bin is still very full! I do understand though, maybe a little note would help…..

Have you actually asked them to replace your bin back on your driveway?

Regardless of the ins and outs of the individual complaint I think that the title of the thread is completely inappropriate.  If the guys that I see doing this work around Wilmslow are representative, they are certainly not lazy. They work fast and they work hard and as far as I can remember in the fifteen years that we have been in our present house, I could count the incidences of missed collection on one hand (and still have a finger or two unemployed!)

So, to the binmen in the Knutsford Road area I say thank-you for a job well done!

Lesley: No I haven’t asked them as I don’t get to see them, usually leaving the house before they arrive, meaning my bin is in the middle of the pavement until I get home. Although it is often moved somewhere else by one of the many pedestrians whose path has been obstructed.
I will take Paul’s advice and leave a note on it next time.

Alan:  You’re absolutely correct.  My ‘header’ was poorly worded.  Heat of the moment.
Perhaps ‘occasionally inconsiderate’ would have been a better choice.  I agree entirely that they are far from lazy.

Well i think they are pretty hard working guys, alright sometimes they spill a bit but a lot of this is due to bins being over stuffed,at least they still take them instead of putting an overfull notice on and leaving them.
My mother is 80+ they actually go into her garden take the bins and then replace them.
Chris is right in one respect about replacing them on his property,a lot of thre fault lies with the customer, their remit is ‘place your bins at the edge of your property’ not in the middle of the path!!
