Icy roads by the schools

The winter icy season has started, yet the main children drop off locations like Eaton Drive, Sutton Road, Wilton Crescent, Redesmere Drive, etc are not gritted.

The icy road makes this area very dangerous for all parents and children.
When would something be done? When someone’s child get badly hurt maybe?

If the gritter can’t get in to the neighbourhood, would it be better to leave a grit box outside each of the schools, for the schools or parents to use the grit to make the road safe?

Good point, all schools have grit/salt but it is only for the paths inside the school grounds and just outside the school.
But as the schools finished on friday it would not be worth it.

So far this is my second winter in Alderley Edge.

I think I can speak for all parents, we would be more than happy if the council would consider options to make the road safer around the school in the future.

A quad bike with a small trailer and flashing light (East Cheshire Council I presume) came up and down Elmfield Road yesterday evening spreading grit, you would have thought it was gold dust the amount that was put down, this photo was taken the morning after.
