Switch On

Last year if you remember we had “The Stig” turn on the lights from Top Gear. Unfortunately though, the fact that the stig is always wearing a white crash suit & is never revealed to the public, it could have been anyone! Who organised the switch on last year? In Alderey Edge, you would have thought finding a celebrity to turn on the lights would be easy? Either way, it made us laugh that we had some random bloke dressed up in a crash suit, but who will we get this year? Is it already planned, or has anyone any ideas?

George, I suspect that the little emoticon at the bottom could indicate your comment to be firmly tongue in cheek. However there may be some people who miss this subtle message, and would be very surprised to see you refer to local motor racing hero Oli Webb as “some random bloke dressed up in a crash suit”!

I apolagise, They didn’t make much of an announcement about unmasking the stig. I & many others had left the parade to go into the village as nothing much seemed to be happening. I apolagise to Oli Webb if I ofended anyone, I simply mised the “Revealing” part of the switch on. It would have been better if he’d just turned up as him, wearing a F1 jacket or something. The emoticon is just something I do regardless when end a post.

Anyway, looking forward to this years swithch on, not sure how it will unfold sandwiched between the supermarkets though!

Hi George,
one difference this year is that the London Rd. will be closed for a few hours; so shops on the road can be open and visited and people can generally wander around more freely and children will have more freedom.
Enjoy the food and drink (some of it free?)
