Bypass compensation

Does anyone know what is happening with alderley edge bypass compensation?  From what we have heard, Cheshire East have put a halt to all negotiations regarding bypass compensation, and there are rumours that they are trying to avoid paying up.

Having spoken with Stuart Harradine (Valuer, CEC), I understand CEC have requested that the settlement figures and processes behind their arrival be reviewed to “ensure that they satisfy their obligations fairly and accurately”.  This process is likely to cause a significant delay to the actual payment of any compensation due.  Whilst I have heard the rumours about this being a CEC ruse to try and avoid paying up, I have also heard of initial offers having been made to the owners of properties on the “inner circle” of Wilton Crescent, which have been calculated at the same value as properties on the outer circle (which are clearly more heavily impacted upon by the new road).  Clearly, many people would view this as being unfair; nevertheless, investigation of this issue by our local political representatives would be welcome, otherwise rumours are likely to proliferate.
