HAving just returned from a tour of Northern Ireland, i was amazed to see how many villages and towns had adopted the chevron way of parking on their main roads. This certainly allowed more cars to park on the main roads ,however, as their main roads like ours were quite busy one had to reverse into the bay which made it safer to come out onto the main roads.As London road still carries traffic surely this also if the parking bays were implemented be safer rather than backing out into on coming traffic?
