30 MPH between Bypass & Horseshoe Lane

I was beginning to think that the temporary speed check sign, placed near to Ryleys sports field, was a pointless exercise as this was a 40 mph zone.  Then I took particular note and realised that in fact this stretch of road now has a 30 mph limit.  Is this a recent change or have I been unwittingly breaking the speed limit for weeks/months?  I don’t recall seeing any signs that say ‘New 30 mph limit in force’ or such like, which is usually the case in these circumstances.
So all of those, like me, who take it for granted that it’s 40 mph beware and make a mental note not to accelerate after Horseshoe Lane as you leave the Village or vice-versa as you come off the bypass.

This may be particularly relevant to all AZ commuters who now have to come through the Village due to the bypass closure.  They may well assume that nothing has changed.  Mind you if this morning is anything to go by they’ll only be doing 5 mph!!

Martyn,
This was highlighted and discussed extensively here over a year ago.
