Footpath on Ryleys Lane

If you remember I started a topic that you can not push a wheelchair/pram from Eaton Drive to the cemetary, a representative from C/E agreed.
(this is because CCC dumped large amounts of earth across the road from Chorley Hall Lane when blocking off the end of the older part of the road)
Well, although the hedge has been cut making it safer for anyone walking around the corner, the footpath has not been safe for wheelchair/pushchair users, I expect an excuse like - “we were waiting until they had finished puting up the NEW mobile phone mask” or “nobody walks with a pushchair to the cemetary in Alderley Edge”

Hi Jon, I mentioned about the path, or non-existence of a path, adjacent to Chorley Hall Lane leading to the cemetery last November to Councillor Keegan. As nothing had been done, I wrote to Cheshire East Council in January.  I received a reply in February and I quote the reply as follows.
“I am aware that this path gets overgrown by the adjacent hedge and the grass verge and we have taken action in the past to get it cleared.  I have asked the Local Highways Officer to have a look at this and to act as necessary.  However, we are currently concentrating most of our resources on dealing with the effects of the winter weather, repairing potholes, clearing floods, gritting, etc., so it could be a while before we are able to carry out any work”.
I then spoke to the gentleman concerned on the telephone and he said that they needed to know who owned the hedge before they could deal with the footpath.  Well, I see that the hedge has been cut but the other day when I was near that area, I note that the path is still a mess and has been like that for years. I also think that the cars that park on that grassy area just past what used to be Chorley Hall Farm should not be allowed to park on there.

I take an early morning walk every Weekend and recently whilst walking after a Wet night. I slipped onto overgrown grass verges growing across the pavement. I didn’t hurt myself but as I lay there I realised I was half way into the road as the pathway is so narrow and dangerous for pedestrians and as for the excuse that funds are necessary for repairing roads after the winter, surely, that is a poor excuse. I would like to walk to the Cemetery taking My Mother in Law in her Wheelchair but that is totally impossible.
