My godfather was John Dale who owned Dale’s shoe shop in Alderley Edge in the 1950’s. We lost touch with him in the 1960’s and he will have now passed on. However, I would be interested to know if anyone has any stories or information about him, such as where he retired to and what happened to the shop. My mother worked for him for about five years. mostly in his Heaton Moor shop, but she also worked in Alderley Edge for a short time. I have a few photos of him, but none of the shop. I know he had a daughter who was married in Alderley Edge as my parents attended the wedding, but I don’t know her name. If you have any information please e-mail me at kay.fletcher at tiscali.co.uk. Thank you.
