Hundreds of local residents are expected to seek compensation from the council, claiming that the Alderley Edge Bypass has devalued their home.
The council agreed that an additional £3 million should be set aside to settle all land related and compensation claims.
Given the road opened in November 2010, the window for compensation claims will not close until 2017 and these claims are now predicted to exceed the budget by £2.4m - due to an increase in land costs and the actual areas of land acquired, as well as increased disturbance and an increase in the number of properties eligible to claim.
What you may not be aware of is any Claims relating to structural damage to properties in the surrounding area caused by the Construction of the Bypass, in particular the Dewatering carried out in the locality of Brook Lane by Birse over a 3 month period, will not be covered and that this becomes a Civil Action for Damages.
I have contacted East Cheshire Council and notified them of my intention to take Civil Proceedings against the Council for damage caused to my patio and interested to know from other residents in Alderley Edge if they have experienced any structural movement in their property during the Bypass Construction.

Please note, any legal action will be at my cost – if evidenced by your structural damage, happy to add this as part of the claim on your behalf.
