Grit Bags

Karen Robinson	Can anybody tell me if the grit bags that are around and about are for use on our own property or are we allowed to use it on the roads?????

Marc Asquith	They are intended for use on the roads. The widespread removal of grit bins was entirely due to the use of the grit on private drives - its expensive stuff. I managed to get one or two re-instated when i was the County Councillor for Alderley - but even one or two were a major battle. I am amazed by CEC’s dumping of big grit bags - but maybe the council takes the view that a bag is not a permanent fixture which needs constant topping up and is just a short term measure. Who can fathom the minds now running the council ? Sorry I did not see this thread sooner.
