DELETED ACCOUNT [Kassie Brora]

This hard tennis court, gates and outbuildings grate on me as they are a collective “carbuncle” to reuse a phrase. All the more so as they wete erected without so much as a “by your leave” by another millionaire playing Monopoly who thinks he is above our tedious little laws and this is particularly the feeling of many in the village. Having spoken to Planning today they confirmed that the owner has agreed to remove the court and re-site the outbuilding by the New Year, the council intend to enforce removal if he does not comply and to bill the owner accordingly.  A colleague spoke to Councillor Bailey (cabinet member with the Planning Portfolio and she too confirmed as much.  It is no secret that Carlos Tevez had been living there but as a tenant only.  He has now left the country (to the relief of Man City). The real owner is a little more elusive, but his identity is in the public domain.  Suffice to say his business concerns mostly elderly folk and their funeral plans!  He has also been interviewed by the writer Malcolm Mc Lean for his intriguing book “To The Edge” (or entrepreneurial secrets of of Britain’s richest square mile.) Our mystery tennis court owner is quoted as saying “I had to do the right thing.  Whatever I’ve been involved with I can stand up tall and look anybody in the eyes.  And they would know about me and what I stood for.” I will let you make your own minds up on that one and meanwhile we can only keep our fingers crossed…....
