Parking on Rileys Lane

The parking on Rileys Lane is getting worse and not only at drop off or pick up times. Rileys school is turning a busy A road into a carpark and, if the school do not make other arrangements, then a full ban on parking will be needed.
Our local police were supposed to be looking into this problem last year and should act before an accident occurs.

Get a grip man, this has been a problem for many years and there has yet to be any serious accidents. Every school has the same issue so why is an accident so imminently likely to happen here?

The solutions do not lie with the Police in any case, the only solutions come with either changing attitudes which is nigh on impossible or changing road layouts.

If there has never been a serious accident on Rileys Lane why was a bunch of flowers on a tree near Chorley Hall Lane.
We WILL see an accident and if it’s not around the schools it will be on the corner near Chorley Old Hall - total lack of good footpath from Rileys Farm to the new tarmac path done with the by-pass work, only last sunday I came accross a group of walkers taking there life in there hands trying to cross near the white cottages.
Still nothing done here, even after it has been reported to Cheshire East (try pushing a pram to the by-pass)

Perhaps saying never was the wrong words, however, flowers on a tree do not suggest an accident has occurred due to parking mothers picking up children.

I can tell you that a far more serious accident WILL happen along part of the A34, should we ask for a 2nd or 3rd lane and reduced speed limits?

It’s unfortunate but accidents happen all the time, they are unpredictable and often preventable either by driver or road layout. The council and police have to be statistically driven in the areas they choose to redesign or the cost would be astronomical.

I can’t comment on the pavement as I can’t say I’ve noticed it.

Why do children have to be dropped of with in 10 yards sorry metres of the school , and the pavement ( which i understand used to be for pedestrians ) used as a car park. Its not only lazy , it also causes damage that the council then will need to fix.

Last year a child crashed into a car at Eaton Drive. The bend near the primary school is a death trap, yet still we find major parking issue everyday.

the eaton drive bend is always clogged up at school time and the majority of the cars are from alderley edge some as close as the “lakes” estate and our council estate.
come on youve got legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now sits back and waits a bombardment of weak excuses ;-)
