Is the Bypass Open ?

Seems that in the great rush to win awards and get a photo opportunity for Mr Osborne the bypass contractors left a lot of work undone, which now causes more traffic problems, plus still closed roads, unfinished cycleways , rubbish strewn on by pass .... general mess and so on ...

Still no news on the re-opening of Welsh Row and it’s only March. I see now that the road to Nether Alderly from the new roundabout at the southern end of the bypass will be closed on the 16th March for 3 days. It’ll only take one more road closure for us to be blocked in altogether!

I am busy eating my words as Welsh Row was re-opened yesterday and it is now possible to drive over the bypass to Soss Moss Lane and out towards Chelford. There is quite a lot of damage to the verges of the lanes from large trucks which I hope Birse are going to rectify and it looks as though there is more landscaping work to be completed.

That sounds like progress!
Is it possible to turn left off the A535 into Soss Moss Lane or is it still one way ?

Hi Louise
Yes - when i went down on sunday all the one way signs had been removed and we appear to be back to two-way traffic
