Local roads

I do not know who is responsible for the upkeep of our roads but I should like to draw attention to the poor condition of Chorley Hall Lane and parts of Wilmslow Road. Vehicles are beginning to dodge the potholes to avoid damage to their vehicle and in my opinion this is dangerous and will eventually lead to an accident. Do we have to wait for this to happen before the roads are made safe for drivers?

We have patchwork road surfaces in and around Alderley and many potholes.  We also have litter in abundance in hedgerows.  Councillors must drive along these roads - but nothing is done about it - or very little.  Simply dumping some tarmac in a pothole is nothing but a temporary fix - never followed up by proper resurfacing.  Utility services refill the holes dug up to fix underground pipes etc but the work is often substandard and dips/holes start to appear soon after - no-one is held accountable for poor standards.  A campaign to “Keep Britain Tidy” should be re-introduced along with regular road sweepers.  The relevant departments of the Council should inspect work carried out on their behalf.  Patchwork roads and litter are not what you expect in such a “posh” area…. why isn’t maintenance on anyone’s agenda?
