The Bypass becomes tin can alley

Sad to report that a number of bypass car users are also litter abusers.Cycled up and down the route on Sunday to discover the louts ‘cans of choice’ are Bulmers Cider, Stella Artois, Heineken and Fosters. A total of 30 cans in all presumably thrown out of car windows at various points along the road. Add to this a few Coca Cola cans, Macdonalds boxes. Walkers crisp packets and cardboard coffee cups and we have an unsightly mess created by todays throw away society. Whatever happend to recycling and respect for the countryside?

The cycle way will need a regular sweeping to rid it of broken glass because bottles have also been hurled on to the path and smashed in four places.
Does anyone know how often the litter will be collected form the bypass and the pathway made safe for cyclists?
Still not a tree planting in sight, but hopefully that will be remedied soon.
Also took in a detour to Welsh Row to discover considerable work is still required to join up the new bridge over the bypass with the existing Welsh Row road. Plenty of tidying up to do.

Sad fact of life that there are more dirty, lazy people who think its acceptable to throw their junk from a moving car than there are people who put it in a bin.

What about a ‘Wilmslow or Alderley Clean Team’ being set up.

I think the reason no tree’s have been planted is because the earth was/is frozen solid. With the best will in the world it would be hard to plant anything at the moment let alone a tree. I am sure that will happen as soon as is possible.

The drinks cans are the same if you walk over Alderley Golf Course. Instead of fining litter droppers they should be made to litter pick for a day and then next time they feel the need to drop their rubbish they might just think again.

I counted 67 drinks cans or bottles this morning, on one side from Brook Lane to Alderley Park!
I strictly excluded cups or other plastic or foil containers - it was the least boring cycle along the bypass I have had :-)
