As the new by pass is single file traffic both ways, and there is no central barrier, is the council going to install a speed limit? 50 mph max would be my suggestion.

It does seem a little worrying having no central barrier, in fact when you drive over it the fact there is no barrier really stands out. All that heavy traffic coming off old bypass onto a single file road…....slightly worrying.

I remember reading a notice in the paper from Cheshire East Council Highways Dept that a 40mph limit would be in place on the bypass. I expect the high performance cars which currently roar through the village late at night will now also roar down the bypass making as much noise as possible for the residents of Wilton Crescent and beyond.

I have just driven past the roundabout near the merlin and I can see the new speed signs - I am very surprised to see that they are the National speed limit signs ie White circle with a black line through them. Doesnt that mean 60mph on a single track road? I thought that the bypass was always going to be 40mph to stop excessive noise?!
