According to today’s Manchester Evening News, broadcaster Stuart Hall and three other mourners were given £70 parking tickets whilst attending the recent funeral of respected journalist and Alderley Edge resident Duncan Measor. 400 mourners had gathered at St Philips Church to pay their last respects to Mr Measor, a former MEN columnist, who died recently aged 85.

Apparently Stuart Hall, who claimed the parking wardens were “killing Wilmslow and Alderley Edge”, threatened to block the roads in protest before Cheshire East Council decided to cancel the fines.
