Heyes Lane Rat Run

I am so sick and tired of cars speeding down our lane. I am utterly devastated because this Monday, my beautiful three-year old Bengal cat, Mili, was killed on the lane by someone driving too fast.
By all means use our road until the by-pass is open but for the sake of kids and pets who live on this road, please keep your speed down. I wish we had some kind of traffic calming measures in place.

Kaz,

We too have felt your pain as Heyes Lane residents.
Both of our cats (British Blue brother and sister) were killed on the lane on their 1st and 2nd birthdays respectively. Given this run of bad luck we decided cats were not for us while we live on Heyes lane.
We fully support your view of traffic calming measures and hope that the bypass makes the lane safer.

I am so glad our cat is a house cat.  He’s 11 years old now, and starting to go blind in one eye, so would not stand a chance on local roads.
House Cats have to be the way forward, fairer on wildlife too.
