Trade Waste Collection in the Village

As you can see from the date and time of this posting - it’s Saturday morning, just after 6am.

Along with Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings myself and other residents have been woken up by bin vans collecting from nearby businesses at 05:20 - yes that’s AM!

Having suffered this (and extreme fatigue) for a while now, it took the bin vans coming today to post a note on this site to politely request that if you have one of the businesses on London Road that uses these services, that you please ask them to come later - a lot later.  The companies that collect are varied - Sita, JWS and others that I’m far too knackered to remember.

I just ask how you would feel, being woken up abruptly by crashing bottles, running engines, slamming doors, noisy workmen etc four times a week before 05.30, then having to try to do a day’s work.  Or alternatively, you take a day off, hoping for a lie in, only to be awoken before the larks have even surfaced.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I can’t believe I’m having to post another topic about trade waste collection in the village.  After the last posting and a few calls to the council, it did get better.

However, over the past tfew weeks, they’ve started creeping out again at unearthly hours, making loads of noise and causing blockages. To illustrate:

Saturday 07:15 - no lie in - thanks for that.
Tuesday 05:15
Thursday 06:30
Friday 05:15

Please can someone sort this out - I can’t believe anyone would be happy with this.  It takes the council and the businesses on London Road who use these private, seemingly unrestricted companies to sort out their collection times to something more appropriate.
