Jenny, I am not sure that there is anywhere else other than the Farm Shop in the village (Horse Shoe Farm). We are seriously lacking in a fruit and veg shop in the village and I think this is something that everyone would use! Anyone fancy opening one? I would most definitely use it! |

Whilst this isn’t a shop, a new company called ‘Fruit in a Jute’ have just started making fresh fruit and veg deliveries in Alderley Edge. It is run by the same people as own Gibbons Greengrocers in Heald Green and they supply I believe they will launch a website shortly but their contact details have just been added to the directory. |

I get a delivery of fresh and local fruit and veg weekly from Nigel Gibbons at Fruit in a Jute. The quality is excellent and you can order on line. They are based in Heald Green but deliver in Cheshire and Manchester. He also does yogurts butter, fruit juices, nuts herbs and eggs. I would highly recommend them. Delivery is free and its cheaper and of superior quality compared to Tesco and Co-Op in the village. |

If only the rents and rates weren’t so high, I’m sure many people(myself included) would be interested in setting up a fruit and veg shop, but unfortunately the takings just wouldn’t be there to cover those vast overheads. Same old story, sadly not enough people support the local shops, instead going for the easy option of buying all under one big roof from one big supermarket :( |
