Hi Darren,

There are some recycle bins on The Parade in Alderley Edge. They are located on the right hand side of the HSBC bank. I know that there is at least paper and can recycling facilities there not sure about bottles and glass etc.

Dear Darren

I wish more people in apartments were as concerned as you. My son lives in the flats over the library and I do his recycling.

I would like to point out that the carpark site in Alderley does cater for glass and also clothing.

The Leisure Centre carpark takes plastic bottles and the Tesco site takes plastic bottles and also Tetra packs.

I have to admit that I put all plastic with a recycle logo into the plastic bins. I did once ring the number on the bin and was told that this was OK. It does say “bottles only” but I cannot bear to throw anything away.

I just wish that the council would start collections of plastic to encourage people not to throw everything into their black bin.

I also have a compost bucket outside my back door but realise this is somewhat difficult for people who live in apartments.

Good Luck Vivienne Marr

Hi

Do you mean the Tesco in Alderley or in Wilmslow?

Thanks
Darren

Dear Darren

Sorry I should have made it plain, Tesco in Handforth Dean.

I find the Tesco building in Alderley Edge so horrendous that I don’t really acknowledge its existence.

The recycling in Handforth Dean is near the petrol station. I may say that I never make special trips to recycle and have large containers which I keep in the garage, again this would be more difficult for you in an apartment.

Pressure needs to be put on the council to accommodate the recycling needs of those in apartment blocks and similar.

Again best of luck Vivienne Marr
