5   Proper taste of sunshine

Had a wonderful selection of tapas here. Better than chain tapas bars and really took us back to a trip to Barcelona. So a holiday feel as well as good honest food. The landlord also supplied a yummy paella at the Gorsey Summer Fair. Definitely a cut above some of the local restaurants.

5   A Taste of Spain

The King William reflects the personality of its Landlord and Landlady perfectly, it is lively, welcoming and the food is a treat.

Authentically spanish (Frank is originally from outside Madrid) it is so much more than "pub grub" although you can still get a great roast dinner or a pie and a pint!

So if you like good food in a great environment, look no further.

4   Warm & friendly

Following a walk from Styal to Wilmslow, a friend and I popped into this warm and friendly pub for a quick lunch.

We enjoyed a bowl of freshly made tomato soup and a sandwich, which was both tasty and excellent value. We were served by the delightful Linda, who took great care of us, and whom we remembered from her efficient service at The Coach and Four.

This was my first visit to the King William for over 20 years, but I hope to return soon.
