5   Wilmslow's hidden gem

We had an hour or so to ourselves without the children, didn't want to go far but wanted a delicious meal. I have walked passed The Stolen Lamb many times and it has always been on our list of places we must try.

We have only ever heard good reports, and we was not disappointed!

Booking was made at the last minute on line, which is hugely convenient in our noisy house.

We were greeted appropriately, throughout the meal served correctly and didn't have to ask for anything (which is a real bug bear).

The meal was outstanding, Greek food with a slight twist. The Halloumi starter was wonderful and the Kleftico main course was truly divine, melt in your mouth meat.

I also must say I couldn't believe how big the restaurant was! I never imagined as I walked up the stairs it would be so large, yet the tables are set out nicely and with snug corners here and there.

I have nothing bad to say about The Stolen Lamb, we can't wait to go back when we have more time to try the Mezze and take some friends along too.

Highly recommended.

5   Authentic experience and wonderful food

On the spur of the moment decided to book at the Stolen Lamb. Took 3 kids early evening and shared a series of mezze meals. Very impressed. Some of the best Greek food I have eaten outside Greece and really reminded me of fab food abroad. The Kleftiko was melt in the mouth. Great selection of dishes. Attentive service. Good Greek wines too. Lush greek salad too (maybe not as authentic as some). Getting busy so catch it while you can still book!

5   Stolen Lamb's Private Room - Fantastic food and exclusive feel

My business, hosted a lunch at the Stolen Lamb on Friday 9th March 2012. We used the Private Room at the Stolen Lamb, which added a really exclusive feel to our event.

Not only was the ambience lovely, the food and wine were exceptional. All our guests were impressed with the menu and the quality of the food. Plus our assigned waiter was brilliant at liaising with me as the host, to ensure that the lunch went smoothly.

Well done to George, Rachel and the team! We will back very soon.

2   Not convinced yet!

Had a very good evening meal in December (Saganaki and Kleftikos), however, disappointing lunch in January. Haloumi starter was not great but the Mousakka was poor, very fatty lamb.

Might try again in the evening certainly not at lunch time.

5   Lunchtime Pleasure

We are new to Wilmslow - like the Stolen Lamb!- and tried it on a lunchtime whim last week. I'm so glad we did! We opted for the mezze for 2 and it was superb. Lots of elegant courses with a delightful variety of flavours and textures, Kio beer too and all reasonably priced. The surroundings are simple and stylish with plenty room for diners and attentive, friendly service. Try it!!

5   Sssh... don't tell anyone!

I often refer to reviews on here but rarely give any feedback until visiting the Stolen Lamb last night. We were out with two friends and I decided to book the table for just after 9 (a risky strategy in a new restaurant) so was delighted when we arrived at 9:15 to a full, buzzing restaurant and warm welcome from the host.

We'd already checked menus online so had a fair idea what to expect and all agreed to opt for the 'tasting menu'. As a vegetarian dining with three meat eaters its always a little difficult to ensure there is a decent selection however the Chef - George who subsequently came to speak to us for feedback ensured that even the 'fussy' eater was well catered for.

Its rare that meat eaters are equally impressed with the vegetarian options but last night was a first! We were all fighting over the Wild Mushroom Moussaka but the tasty dishes kept coming. The waiting on staff were helpful, genuine and attentive without over crowding us and had great banter.

The wine list was extensive and well thought through I could have happily quaffed the Amarone but instead we opted for the reasonably priced Malbec which was the perfect partner to our delicious meal.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and had a cosy feel whilst still having ample tables and I was even impressed with the toilets which were clean, elegant and spacious.

This restaurant is exactly what Wilmslow needed and what a relief to see another empty venue finally filled with what I'm sure will be a thriving business. I'm already looking forward to our next visit and just hope we can get a table! Well done all involved and keep up the good work.

5   Great evening meal!

My wife and I went to the Stolen Lamb last night - we'd heard lots of positive words before we went. We had a great time with the food, wine and service and it was really good to see a restaurant full of people. We can particularly recommend the Rizo Galo dessert !!

Definitely be going back for more.
