1   Awful customer service

I experienced awful customer service on Saturday the 7th of May.

I was with a large party celebrating a friend’s birthday and we were seated upstairs. There is only one air conditioning unit and by bad planning it was right above a table. The diners there had it switched off because of the draft. I can understand that, but perhaps a table shouldn’t have been placed there in the first place. Other tables were free.

The lack of air-conditioning meant that the room became hotter and hotter. Really unbearable. Everyone felt this. The staff agreed but said they couldn’t do anything about it apart from opening a back door. We had to repeatedly ask for ice and I asked to see a manager. I was told they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it so I couldn’t. The manager was in the kitchen, so obviously busy, but couldn’t spare 2 minutes to speak with me. He eventually came an hour and a half later and was quite aggressive. He repeatedly asked what he was meant to do about the heat, and when he calmed down and let me speak I made some suggestions.

I haven’t even mentioned the food. Very average Italian food you can get anywhere.

5   Tiramisu to die for

Really excellent food at a very reasonable price. A nice atmosphere with friendly service. The first time I have been to Sarafina and will definitely will be going again, the Tiramisu was to die for

4   Great food

Great food and friendly staff. Always happy every time I go.

Food is of better quality than some of the other Italian restaurants in the area.

The only thing that I can fault and it is very subjective is the lights has been a little bright when I have been and I think the restaurant does not get the best out of the atmosphere which other restaurant have got.

Great wine list too.

5   Sarafina

First rate informal Italian restaurant , good set menu with innovative specials board. Their staff and maitre d' are their great strength. Prices reasonable , great atmosphere. Handy car parking nearby [free in evenings]
