5   My favourite haunt!

The Plough & Flail is more than a pub serving food; it’s a dining experience!

The food is first class, the staff and management are all very friendly and work exceptionally hard. It’s my favourite place to eat.

It doesn't matter whether it’s a cosy meal for two, a small group of friends or even a group of 40, the food is a consistently high standard and the atmosphere is great.

It’s a great place to walk to on a summers evening with the dog in tow, where we are both rewarded with some liquid refreshment when we arrive! It’s delightful in winter too, especially at Christmas.

It won’t be long before I’m popping in for my fix of rib eye steak and chunky chips.

5   Simply the best!

My friends and I often lunch at "The Plough" and we are never disappointed - the staff are friendly and the food is wonderful.

My son recently had his wedding reception in the conservatory and it was first class.

The service was efficient and unobtrusive and the food was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone!

4   Great but even better if you have kids

We visited the Plough & Flail on Saturday 10th October. We were greeted on arrival and take to our table near the conservatory. The starters and main course were both excellent, well cooked, ample and tasty. The service was also excellent with polite staff on hand when required, dishes served quickly and plates removed promptly. The restaurant gives the impression that it is well run. The decor is traditional with real wood chairs and tables and the rural location is tranquil.

Prices are competitive and for the quality of food it offers good value. The only downside is that the restaurant attracts families and can be distracting for a couple seeking a quiet evening dining experience but we would definitely consider returning to the Plough & Flail.

5   Bike/dog friendly

We regularly walk our dogs over the fields to the Plough or sometimes go by bike - either way is great and they have water for the dogs. There is no problem having the dogs with you outside and the under-covered heated area makes it warm enough to sit and eat their great food - the cheese pie is fab!!

5   Best run place in the area!

I've never had a bad meal at the Plough and Flail. I've been there with my sons, with my friends and with colleagues both lunchtimes and evenings. We took a group of French colleagues there for lunch and they were extremely impressed. That doesn't happen often! The manager knows how to run a top notch establishment - and he does it with style and a smile.

5   Superb!!

I love this place!! Great in the winter with it's open fires and cosy interior; fab in summer with the huge patio area and adored by my girls due to the little outdoor play area! They also enjoy spying on the Alpacas nearby! The food is always excellent - the fish platter starter is my fave but I never share!! The service is great. A very firm favourite of ours!!
