5   A local alternative to books

I am delighted we can now buy children's gifts and items for party favours locally. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the selection is impressive and unusual.

Without a car, I'd resorted to books so it's great to have a choice again. I got lots of little gifts from there for a party recently, as well as a main present for a January birthday - all my ideas were used at Christmas so the advice I got was particularly helpful.

4   Full of wonderful and unusual toys

It is very clear when you visit this wonderful toy shop that the owner Jo Nicholson is passionate about her business. She really cares about children's toys and children having fun.

They stock an extensive range of good quality toys and Jo is very knowledgeable about the products. Whilst I was deciding what to buy my little girls Jo advised several customers looking for gifts for children of various ages.

What I really like about this place is you will always find something different, which is perfect when you're not sure what toys a child has and want to avoid duplication.

Little Nut Tree Toys will be my first port of call when I'm looking for that special gift.
