5   Weinholt's shames the big chains

Weinholt's is a local gem and is famous in the region. Primarily selling cakes/pastries, Weinholt's is on the A34 and is a must for visitors and locals. The cakes are out of this world, all made fresh on-site, some of which would not look out of place on a desert plate at an expensive eatery. I usually buy fabulous deserts from Selfridges but I think Weinholt's are slightly better quality and less expensive.

Look out for what can only be described a a giant Malteser-like cake, my personal favourite. The pork pies are better quality than anything I have previously tasted, packed full of meat with a thin crust. I am glad I don't live too close to this shop or I might quickly gain weight. Highly recommended.
