Firemen from Wilmslow Fire Station visited Alderley Edge School for Girls this week to educate Year 5 girls about smoke alarms and the importance of them. They also discussed ways in which to respond should they ever encounter a fire - which included a lesson on how to develop a fire plan for their own homes.

The Year 5 girls were very excited to be given the chance to experience a smoke tunnel and really enjoyed the session.

Mr Groves, Headmaster of the Junior School. said "It's very important for the girls to learn about their health and safety, and to understand the dangers of fire. We were delighted that members of the fire service were able to join us and look forward to welcoming them into school again soon."
