Sixth form girls at Alderley Edge School for Girls got into the festive spirit this week at the Children's Adventure Farm Trust's Christmas party.

Hannah Purdy, Charlotte Cooper, Fleur Flaherty and Emily Holmes-Naden set off from the school alongside Chaplain Mary, and dressed up as festive characters to entertain the children.

The girls' job was to welcome the children arriving for the party whilst dressed as a snowman, a reindeer, a polar bear and Bobby the CAFT mascot. The girls had fun with the children from Hinderton Community Primary school in Ellesmere Port, which is a school for children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and social communication needs.

CAFT is holding Christmas parties every weekday between now and Christmas where the children attending are treated to wonderful day with a Christmas dinner, play time with fun activities, a visit to Santa's Grotto and an old fashioned sweet shop.

Julie Gray, Community Fundraiser for CAFT commented: "We are so grateful to the students for their help this Christmas, they were fantastic Christmas characters and the children absolutely loved them!

"It means so much to us that the school continues to support our charity, it is always touching to see young people working so hard to help their less fortunate peers. The work of our charity is absolutely vital, but it couldn't continue without the support of our community."

Alderley Edge School for Girls is supporting CAFT for the second year in a row and were delighted to be asked to help out with the event.
