Year 6 pupils at Alderley Edge School for Girls have just returned from Le Pré Catelan, the PGL residential centre in Northern France.

The girls went on educational visits to the underground war museum in Albert and Thiepval World War 1 memorial, Chocolaterie de Beussent - a famous chocolate factory in the region and a traditional Boulogne market.

They also enjoyed speed sailing in the glorious sunshine, evening hikes and played Beach Olympics - as well as experiencing traditional French cuisine including mussels, snails, beef bourguignon and crepes.

Year 6 teacher Mr Mike Norris expressed his thanks to the all the staff involved both at home and in France, "The girls had a great time and the PGL staff put on a brilliant end of the week soiree. The behaviour of the group was impeccable and the girls thoroughly enjoyed their time in France and the opportunity to practise their French language skills."
