Castleton trip for Alderley Girls

Years 3 and 4 at Alderley Edge School for Girls have just returned from a trip to Castleton in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

The Year 4 girls enjoyed an action packed stay, over two nights, and participated in orienteering, climbed Mam Tor, made candles and fossils, in addition to conquering several team challenges. They also proved to be very accurate on the archery range and experienced the wonders of Treakcliff Cavern and its shop.

The Year 3 girls were equally enthusiastic and excited by their overnight stay, and, during their time in Derbyshire, they built a Roman siege engine, took part in an archaeological dig, solved a Rune puzzle, and walked up to the most famous landmark in Castleton, the spectacular Peveril Castle.

The girls and their teachers all had an excellent time and are looking forward to their next school outing.
