Alderley girls enjoy charity fun run

Year 1 and 2 girls at Alderley Edge School for Girls participated in a sponsored fun run on Wednesday, May 25th, in aid of The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) raising over £800 so far.

Mary Hostler, School Chaplain spoke to the young girls about the work that CAFT does for children and how their fundraising will help – this made the girls even more determined to complete their 10 lap run wearing their farmyard style hats and animal themed outfits.

Mrs Claire Ash, teacher of class 2A and Miss Chloe Biesty, teacher of class 1B explained how willing the girls are to participate in fund raising activities, and how much the girls are looking forward to their visit to the Farm next month to see how the money they have raised will help the children.

Claire said "We are amazed at the amount of money raised so far, CAFT really is a great charity and we are delighted to be able to support such a local worthy cause. On behalf of the girls, I would like to send out a huge thank you to all those who supported with the run and raised funds."

CAFT, which is regularly supported by the school, is set in the heart of Cheshire and offers free adventure breaks and activities to children from all over the Northwest who are disadvantaged by illness, disability and poverty.
