A pupil at Alderley Edge School for Girls has achieved her black belt in TaeKwon-Do.

In order to make the grade Emily Walton, 13, was tested rigorously by four senior examiners at the Trident Academy in Sale over an intense three hour period.

The examination included testing on patterns, technical kicking, sparring, on their thesis and on their knowledge of Korean terminology.

Mrs Susan Goff, Headmistress at the School commented, "We are very proud of Emily's achievements and we know she has worked incredibly hard to gain her black belt. As a school, we aim to support girls who have commitments outside of school but continue to manage the challenges of school life and homework."
