Dr Steve Rossington from Salford University presented the Chemistry Show to senior school girls at Alderley Edge School for Girls on Thursday, 7th April.

The show was in support of KidsCan Children's Cancer Research Centre which was established in 2002 to specifically support research into new and improved treatments for children with cancer.

Pupils and staff at the school bought wristbands to show their support for the Research Centre and the show included all sorts of displays of weird and wonderful chemical reactions, including luminescence and several explosions!

Chemistry teacher, Mrs Jane Bolton commented, "It was a spectacular way to finish the school term, not only did it inspire the girls with the wonders of science, it was a fun way to be able to raise money for KidsCan.

"We thank Dr Rossington for coming into school and hope to have him visit again soon."
