The Green Room: 'Ladies of Importance'

Saturday, 8th Oct, 2022 to Saturday, 15th Oct, 2022

Under the production title of 'Ladies of Importance' The Green Room season opens with two comedy one-act plays - 'A Lady of Letters' by national treasure Alan Bennett and the world premiere performance of 'Lady Bracknell's Return' by local playwright Peter Harrison.

A Lady of Letters is from the comedy classic Talking Heads by Alan Bennett. Spinster Irene puts pen to paper to complain about the many, many wrongs she sees around her. However, she ends up on the wrong side of the law when she misreads completely the situation of the family living in the house opposite.

Lady Bracknell's Return is by local author Peter Harrison inspired by the character Lady Bracknell from Oscar Wilde's comedy classic The Importance of Being Earnest. The play is a four-hander full of charm, wit and substance, dominated by the ever-powerful and formidable Lady B who reappears in her former home.

'Ladies of Importance' runs at The Green Room Theatre, Wilmslow from Saturday 8th to 15th October at 7.45pm with a matinee at 2.30pm on 15th October.
